Our Story
In the dark hours of April 16th, 2022, a tragedy struck that would change one family's life forever. Haley, a vibrant 21-year-old, lost her life in a roadside accident, prompting her grieving mother, Brook Stealey, to transform her pain into a powerful force for change.
Out of this heart-wrenching loss emerged Haley's Light, a nonprofit organization committed to raising awareness about highway safety and providing crucial information on how to navigate the challenging situation when a vehicle becomes disabled. The mission is clear: to spare other families the pain and grief associated with accidents by empowering them with knowledge and tools.

In a recent incident that highlights the real impact of Haley's Light, a local woman became the beacon of help for a stranded gentleman pulling his boat on a dark, unlit road. The man found himself in a precarious situation as oncoming cars failed to notice his boat protruding into the road. Desperate for visibility, he stood in the road, flashing a small flashlight at passing cars to prevent a potential collision.
A local woman, equipped with a Haley's Light in her car, noticed the unfolding situation. Recognizing the potential danger, she pulled over and approached the distressed gentleman. Offering a simple yet powerful solution, she asked if he would like to use her safety light—the very same Haley's Light designed to enhance visibility in such situations.
Grateful for the offer, the man attached the Haley's Light to his boat.
